Imagine that you are born in the late 1600's to a family that figured out how to use fractional reserve lending and playing both sides of the war table to rule the known world.
What would you do? Would you try to change it? Or, would you take it for granted and just ride with it? Or would do everything in your power to become the head of the family and be the top dog of all the one percenters?
Given the time, and the culture, I am not sure. How different would I be? I could do any of it I guess.
I am thinking about this because it occurred to me that I have no empathy for these very people. The people in the big banking families, the giants of religion, (hell, I dont even really trust the new pope! He's too slick, too perfect.) the politicians and people who exert any violent control over others. How can I relate to them? They feed us propaganda and are able to empathize with us enough to sell us all kinds of b.s. I should be able to empathize with them and sell them on truth. We all should. I am looking for the peoples propaganda. And propaganda requires empathy.
