Delegation is something that all great leaders are really good at.
We forget that we are all leaders of someone, and something, somewhere. Our culture has taught us that unless we are the ones with our name on the side of the building, we are not actually leading. This fallacy leads to all sorts of problems that we are in the process of fixing.
Delegation requires the development of a very important skill.
Anytime a task is delegated, it is easy to expect that task to be done the way it was originally envisioned and completed the "right" way. This will never be the case. The person who is now going to oversee this task has their own vision and will accomplish it as they see fit within the grand scheme of the project.
It is easy to look at this as failure. But a better way to look at it is as an addition and a help to the original vision, but in order to see that, first, we must let go and not be controlling micro managers.
When we do this, we become more powerful than we could ever imagine and our tribe grows stronger than we could have imagined and we change the world in ways we could not have imagined.
So today is your chance to delegate something, and let go and see the magic that your delegate sees.
