When you try new things and abandon fear you find a tribe that already loves what you are trying and is ready for you with open arms.
As many of you know, I recently got a motorcycle. I took safety training, read a million blogs about how to be prepared and geared up properly. Then I hit the road.
In the first day, I passed a guy on a similar bike to mine, and I got this very unique "wave" from him. I instantly knew what it meant. "Hey man, I see you, and I know that you know that I know that you know, how rad this is." I wasn't able to wave back in the same way because I was not prepared to hold my bike one handed, but now I get to throw the same gesture at other riders.
The next thing I discovered is that when stopping for a break, to stretch or get warm or eat, generally another rider will be there if it's a nice day. The instant camaraderie of checking out each others bikes and talking about destinations and the like is quite exhilarating.
The key really is to try things without fear and wear it on your sleeve. You never know what might happen or who you might meet.
