Leading is a tough job. First comes the decision to take the lead. Tough in itself. Then leading in a way that others want to follow. Then come the followers. Then the initial orientation and training, coupled with being an example.
Then the real tough part comes. Letting those who followed you become leaders in their own right, and watching them run off to chase what the universe has in store for them.
Then watching them fall. You knew it was going to happen. That's how you earned all of your hard won wisdom. The key is, do you rush in and save them, being the "leader" you know are supposed to be? Or, do you let them earn their own wisdom? It's hard making these decisions. When to help and when to let others have their own scout badge, knowing they did it all on their own.
Different situations call for different actions, and I hope you are brave enough to try to do the right thing no matter what. Sure, you will fail, and that's how you learn.
Keep learning friends, and keep leading others to the same bravery.
